2005-06-30

2005 Pinnacle Awards

Join natural stone professionals from around the world in entering the 2005 Pinnacle Awards competition sponsored by the Marble Institute of America (MIA). These highly coveted awards are given to projects whose beauty, creativity, ingenuity, and craftsmanship exemplify professional mastery in the use of natural stone in commercial and residential environments. As a Pinnacle Award winner, you will receive widespread recognition for your professional accomplishments.

2005 Award Categories
A distinguished panel of judges will bestow Awards of Excellence, and, as deemed appropriate, Awards of Merit, in the following categories:

  • Commercial Interior,
  • Commercial Exterior,
  • Residential Interior or Exterior,
  • Renovation & Restoration.

Eligibility
The Pinnacle Awards are open to all MIA member companies; project teams must include at least one MIA member company. Projects submitted must comply with MIA standards as defined in MIA’s Dimension Stone Design Manual and MIA Technical Modules.

Eligibility Period
To be eligible, projects must have been completed within the past three years (January 2002 to August 2005). Multiple entries are accepted and encouraged. Please fill out a separate entry form for each project.

How to Enter
In a binder, submit the following for each entry:

  • Official Entry Form: A completed and signed entry form with payment must accompany each entry. Incomplete entry forms will disqualify the entry.

  • Project Description: Include a typed narrative description of the project's goals and how they were achieved. Include any special fabrication or installation challenges and how they were met; information about the stone, including its generic (not trade) material name(s), finish(es), size(s), and quantity used; and the specific role the MIA member company played in the project.

  • Photographs: Submit a minimum of three (3) to a maximum of six (6) professional-quality 8x10 color prints (photo quality is critically important to the judging process). Photos should present an overall view of the project as well as important details that enable judges to better assess the quality of the work. DO NOT submit 35 mm slides, presentation boards, photographs printed on an inkjet printer, or digital photographs on disk or CD; only color prints will be accepted. Label all materials with the name of your company and project.

  • Identifications: Provide the names of the project client, architect or designer, general contractor, stone supplier, stone fabricator, and stone installer.

  • Project Completion Date
